Yea honestly man go with the father fish method this is insufferable. I've got my own version of it involving a long cycle. Also if you already have large amounts of algae adding a pleco isn't a good idea specially in what appears to be a 4 gallon tank. My advice for a good cleanup crew is shrimp and any kind of snail

Water may be a solvent but there's no way it's going to take away that many nutrients! specially not with a quick soak. Even if you soaked a piece of spinach in distilled water (hungry for minerals) for a week it will still retain the majority of it's nutritional profile.

They also will eat your soft corals like star polyps especially at night, not reef safe

I have the first generation of these filter and use it as a pre filter just for my sponge and polished pad then a aquaone 1250 S2 full of bio media works great in this set up I found the pumps did leak a little bit in the first gen the seal weren't that good

I have purchased turbo 500 and... rather disappointed. These lovely bubbles look great only on the advert. In reality, you would have to tilt the filter and keep it at the water level for any bubbles. NB. Yes, I have explored the problem, adjusted a hundred of times whatever was there to adjust. Filtration, okay as of 3 weeks post installation...

I've just had this heater explode about an hour ago . luckily nothing so far was killed , but the water has turned acrid an had to do a waterchange in the middl of the night. this is the third of these heaters to break. first two jammed on. this one exploded 1 min after turning it up.
